Which King Do You Love?

As we approach Easter, we're reminded of the profound difference between loving Jesus for who He truly is versus loving Him for what we expect Him to do for us. The Palm Sunday story in Matthew 21 illustrates this beautifully. We see crowds welcoming Jesus as a king, but their expectations were misplaced. They wanted a political savior, not the spiritual Savior He came to be. This challenges us to examine our own hearts - do we love Jesus for His characteristics, or for our expectations? When prayers go unanswered or life doesn't unfold as we hoped, do we still worship? The cross and empty tomb should always be our focus, reminding us of God's unfathomable love and sacrifice. This perspective shift can transform our faith, moving us from self-centered worship to a deeper, more authentic relationship with Christ.
