Sunday School

Sunday School - Sisk Memorial Baptist Church

At SMBC, our Sunday School mission is to help believers BECOME the Christians that God has called us to be. Sunday School is where relationships are formed, Biblical teaching helps relationships with Jesus Christ grow, and we are engaged in serving our community. Classes are offered for all ages, from preschool to elementary-aged children, students, men, women, couples, young adults, and senior adult classes. And even though it may not be a structured “class,” infants and toddlers are loved, sung to about Jesus, and rocked in our Nursery. There is a place for everyone!

Our Sunday School classes meet at 9:45-10:45 am on our church campus, where security and first response teams are available for the health and safety of all in attendance. If you’re new to our campus, Greeters are available at every door with pamphlets and knowledge on all of our current, available classes. And they would be more than welcome to speak with you about your class interests, any special requirements or needs, and even escort you to whichever class you wish to attend. Let one of our Greeters help you find a great Sunday School class that fits where you are!

Childcare Ministries

Childcare Ministries - Sisk Memorial Baptist Church

Having a trustworthy facility and more-than-capable caregivers to provide childcare for infants and toddlers during Sunday School and Church Services is a wonderful gift for parents of younger children. Affording families the time to learn, worship, praise, and listen to sermons knowing that their little ones are in good hands is a valuable ministry to those families with babies and preschoolers. Quite often, the time that our Childcare Ministry is tending to younger children is the only time for new and younger mothers to be away from their little ones. Donating your time to this ministry is a true offering of love to young families while you show the love of Jesus to their little ones.

Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come to come unto me: for such is the kingdom of heaven.
— Matthew 19:14

We thank those who serve in our Childcare Ministry for their years of experience and their talent for taking care of younger children. If you would like to serve in this invaluable ministry, your time and abilities are definitely needed. Background checks are conducted by our Security Team of those who work in our Childcare Ministry. Contact our Church Office for more information on how you can be a part of this group.

Golden Ager Singers

Golden Ager Singers - Sisk Memorial Baptist Church

The Golden Ager Singers have a ministry for sure, and it’s summarized by our slogan:  We sing for the joy of the Lord in our hearts and the hearts of others!

All of the Golden Ager Singers have been blessed by the Lord, in so many ways, and we love to express our thanks, for those blessings, through song! This choir brings us together, both physically and spiritually, as we practice, pray, and sing the wonderful messages of old gospel songs. We take God’s promises of love, forgiveness, salvation, peace, and so much more out to retirement centers, assisted living homes, nursing homes, our own church family at SMBC, and other churches, as well.

We try to have programs that go along with the different seasons and times of the year. The Christian celebrations of Christmas and Easter; the patriotic celebrations around the 4th of July, Memorial Day, and Veterans Day; Valentine’s Day, etc. Here are a few special memories:

  • meeting a 105-year-old veteran who was still walking, talking, and singing

  • shaking hands with so many who have thanked us for coming

  • seeing the “sparkle” in people’s eyes when singing patriotic and seasonal songs that bring back many memories of happy times in their past.

  • having the opportunity to close each concert with a prayer for everyone there and in thanksgiving to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

  • having great fellowship together, as a choir, when many members have lost their life partners

  • sharing a time of fellowship and encouragement to other churches, via gospel music, when invited to do so

  • having lots of “good, clean, fun” together, on our road trips

Golden Ager Singers at Riddleville, GA - Sisk Memorial Baptist Church

It touches our hearts to see such happiness on the faces of our audience as they respond to God’s Word, through song — in songs that many of them sang in their own churches, in the past. They often tell us how much it has meant to them for us to bring these concerts to their location. After our concerts, we always go out into the audience to spend a few minutes in conversation. It’s a wonderful way to assure those in retirement centers, assisted living homes, and nursing homes, especially, that they are not forgotten!

The net result from our Golden Ager Singers concerts is that as we try to provide a blessing for the audience, we always receive a double blessing in return!

Men of Sisk

Transformations Men's Ministry - Sisk Memorial Baptist Church

Here at SMBC, our Men of Sisk are an important part of church life. From working hard during community outreaches, to organizing work days for campus beautification, to taking time monthly to build each other up and fellowship. Our men are constantly doing something to engage each other and help each other grow in the various hats that men wear for the families, jobs, and their church.

Through men’s Sunday School classes, monthly Men of Sisk fellowships, and yearly men’s retreats, we do our best to cultivate an environment where we can work together and support each other to do what God has called us to do: Lead.

We would love to have you join us every Sunday Morning at 9:45AM or the 4th Saturday of every month at 9AM!

If we'll surrender all our pride and turn from our ways,

He will hear from Heaven and forgive our sin;

He will heal our land, but it starts right here.

If we want to see a change in the world out there,

It's got to start right here.

It's got to start right now.

Lord, I'm starting right here;

Lord, I'm starting right now.
